Chigumbura fought hard with a ton but did not find good consistent support on the other end. Zimbabwe needed 10 off the final over with three wickets in hand. So close, yet so far for Zimbabwe.

Watch 1st ODI Highlights

India chose to send a team with a lot of new players after losing their series with Bangladesh. Rahane will be leading the India ODI team for the first time. A few months ago Rahane was not even sure of his place in the team but now he has been given the captain's responsibility. Zimbabwe players are motivated since they sniff an opportunity since a lot of senior players are missing from the Indian team. However even with the missing players Indian team is still the favourite to win the 1st one day game.

India Team: AM Rahane*, STR Binny, Harbhajan Singh, KM Jadhav, DS Kulkarni, B Kumar, MK Pandey, AR Patel, AT Rayudu, Sandeep Sharma, KV Sharma, MM Sharma, MK Tiwary, RV Uthappa†, M Vijay
