UAE won the toss and decided to bat firs.

India thrashed UAE to register their biggest World Cup win. UAE registered their lowest ODI score. India's pace bowlers efficiently used the world's fastest pitch to create early trouble for the UAE batsmen. Both openers fell to bouncers. Ashwin was brought in the 11th over when UAE was down at 28 for 2. UAE soon sled to 44 for 5 in the 17th over eventually folding out for 102. Ashwin took 4 for 25. India completed the target in the 19th over.

The win was second biggest overall for India.

13th Match - India vs South Africa

India vs South Africa - India's first true test

India won the toss and decided to bat first!

Shikhar Dhawan scored hid career high 137 to help India defeat South Africa comprehensively. Rahane also contributed a crucial 79. India started slow in the first 10 overs but picked up the pace in middle overs and them exploded in the last 15. South Africa crumbled under pressure while batting. India hustled in the field and bustled with the ball. There was no freebie on offer. Wickets kept falling as South Africa struggled to make runs.

Pre Game: India and South Africa, both have won one game each are sitting at the top of the Pool B points table. India has not been in a good form before the world cup but are back with high confidence after defeating Pakistan in their opening game.This game will be a true test of India's revival. India and South Africa will be playing in front of a strong crowd of 90,000. India last played at MCG just a month ago in the triangular one-day series. The MCG is big ground and toss will be crucial.

India has lost all three games played with South Africa in the World Cups so far. Can they break the jinx this time?

Day 2 - India vs Pakistan

India and Pakistan rivalry at its best

India wins by 76 runs


Any time India and Pakistan meet in the World Cup, it is almost s good as the World Cup final. In the 2015 world cup these teams are in the same group and are facing each other on the day 2 itself.

India won the toss and decided to bat first! Kohli hit a fine century to help India finish at 300 in 50 overs. Dhawan and Raina also made significant contributions but India chocked in last 3 over overs losing 4 wickets for just 17 runs. India could make just 27 runs off the last five overs.

Pakistan have never chased more than 262 successfully in a World Cup match. India have always defended 300 in World Cup matches.

Pakistan lost the opening wicket at 11 and kept losing wickets at regular interval eventually folding out at 224 in 47 overs. Misbah-ul-Haq was the only batsman to cross the 50 mark.

Day 1 - Australia vs England

Australia cruise to opening day game win

Finch scored a ton to take Australia to 342 in the second gamer on the opening day. England surrendered tamely to fold up at 231. Taylor was the only batsman providing resistance and stayed not out at 98 missing his century by just 2 runs when he ran out of partners. Earlier in the game Australia had a scare after losing three wickets on 57 runs but Finch provided the support and took the Australia score to 216 before getting run out. Baily also contributed to this partnership ans scored 55. England started losing wickets from very beginning and were soon 92 for loss of 6 wickets before Taylor provided some resistance along with Woakes. They both took the score to 184 before Woakes fell for 37. England lost quick wickets after that to fold up at 231 losing by 111 runs.

Day 1 - New Zealand vs Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka loses by 98 runs

New Zealand scored 331/6 in the World Cup 2015 opener. Sri Lanka lost 4 wickets within the first 24 overs and was trailing by 170 runs after 31 overs. Earlier in the day Guptill and McCullum took Sri Lanka for a ride and scored 111 run together for the opening partnership. Williamson and Anderson continued the assault in the later part of the inning and scored 57 and 75. Sri Lanka did not seem to be very confident after loosing four important wickets while chasing the huge total and eventually were all out for 233 losing the match by 98 runs.
